Decin district heating

Case study Decin district heating
Description Decin, a city with around 55 000 inhabitants uses geothermal energy, special heat pumps and a CHP on natural gas. In the soil near Decin is an underground  water reservoir with a temperature of 30 °C. This water is used directly for a swimming pool. For district heating the temperature is too low. Therefore two heat pumps extract heat from it and warm the water for district heating up to 72 °C.
