Description Sala is about 25 000 inhabitants. Its location within geothermal active area enables utilization of geothermal energy for space heating purposes. Two district heating systems which distribute heat into apartment houses and other buildings have been built in the town.

Design of the DH Distribution network is two-pipe system which is connected to pressure independent heat exchanger stations installed in 82 objects. Geothermal energy is used for pre-heating (70°C production temperature) and it is supported by natural gas boiler.
